Where It All Began / Our Story

Our story began on October 28, 2022, at a Halloween house party.

More precisely: it almost didn't begin at all.

Dóra didn't feel like going. She was tired. She would have happily stayed home in her pajamas, enjoying a quiet evening. But Luca, her twin sister, wouldn't let it go:
"Get out there — how else are you ever going to meet anyone if you stay at home?"

Eventually, Dóra gave in and decided to go to the party. 

And what a good decision that was.

We spotted each other pretty quickly at the party — to be fair, it's not exactly hard to miss Dominik with his blonde hair and 190 cm. After a few gin and tonics-while Dominik was petting a dog (which was already a very convincing quality on its own) - Dóra walked up to him and without any introduction or whatsoever, asked if his teeth were real because his smile was just that perfect.

That was the moment when we didn't yet know it — but everything had begun.

We started talking, and it soon turned out that Dominik works in his family's catering business, cooking for weddings among other events. Dóra quickly made a mental note: what a catch — if this blond prince becomes my husband, at least I already know who will cook at the wedding.
Who would have thought back then how powerful our thoughts can be?

Dominik, on the other hand, was completely enchanted by Dóra's beautiful eyes and smile. He wasn't thinking about weddings at that point — he was mostly thinking that no one had ever asked him a question like that about his teeth before. Her slightly crazy, fearless personality captivated him immediately, and he decided he wanted to get to know this girl better.

From that point on, the night was unstoppable. We talked endlessly, partied, and even did karaoke — Backstreet Boys, I Want It That Way. Yes, we now officially admit that this was our very first song together.

Dominik enthusiastically talked about skiing, his campervan-building plans, how he "knows all the brunch places" (even though he doesn't actually go to them), and how much he loves hiking and traveling. Dóra was amazed-so many shared hobbies! So much so that she confidently stated, that she could ski too so she can impress Dominik (a statement that has since undergone some clarification over the years).

During that night, under the influence of gin and tonics, we made big life plans: watching the sunrise from Gellért Hill, going on spontaneous adventures (Dóra slightly exaggerated her level of spontaneity — something we still laugh about lovingly), and of course deciding that since we were both "spontaneous people," we would go hiking in the Tatra Mountains together the following week.

On her way home, Dóra already felt that this meeting was different and she never felt like this before. Smiling to herself — and later to Luca the next day — she hummed:
"I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes."

Our first official date was at the Tropicarium, followed by eating a Napolitana pizza — our mutual favorite food;). Dominik even impressed Dóra by telling her he owns his own pizza oven and regularly makes pizza. Since we've known each other, "regularly" has meant about three or four times — but that's what we now refer to as the marketing phase: Dominik makes pizza often and Dora is being spontaneous...

Our second date was in the Tatra Mountains:

We hiked through breathtaking landscapes, had deep conversations, and Dóra was completely captivated by how Dominik seemed to have an interesting fun fact about almost everything. His intelligence, curiosity, and natural warmth brought us closer and closer.

For the first time in our lives, neither of us felt the need to play a role. We could be honest, relaxed, fully ourselves — as if we had known each other for a thousand years. During that trip, Dominik was completely swept away by Dóra's energy and determination — and he has been trying to keep up with her pace ever since.

Who would have thought that one single decision — going to that party that night — would create a lifelong bond?

Who would have thought that we would now be here, planning the most beautiful days of our lives, ready to unite our lives surrounded by our family and closest friends?

Since then, we've shared countless experiences. When Dóra goes home, she goes home to Dominik.

And it's true — when you meet the right one, you feel it.

We felt it from the very first moment that this was something different.

And we still do. 💛
